Services Available
Community Alarm Service / Control Room
Provides a 24-hour service, 365 days a year, taking emergency and non-emergency calls from service users, with two operators on duty at all times. Other functions carried out by the Control Room include out of hours emergency repair calls for A1 Housing and lone worker monitoring for other services within Bassetlaw District Council.
Supported Housing Wardens
Our Wardens provide a visiting service to people with community alarms living in council flats or bungalows. The frequency of visits is based on the needs of the service user. An out of hours service is also available in an emergency.
Sheltered Housing Schemes
There are five sheltered housing schemes throughout Bassetlaw providing supported accommodation for more frail and elderly service users. Service users have the benefit of an onsite warden during the week and emergency cover at all other times.
Floating Support and Telecare Wardens
These Wardens provide a community alarm, additional sensors and visiting service (if required) to elderly and/or vulnerable people living in any type of property, rented or privately owned.
Extra Care
We provide successful Extra Care in two Sheltered Schemes in Worksop and Bircotes, in partnership with Notts County Council, Adult Social Care & Health and the Careforce Group. These schemes provide support and care allowing residents to continue to live an independent life within a community setting.
Westmorland House in Bircotes has recently undergone a
transformation. The gardens are now a haven of tranquility and
relaxation. A lot of hard work has gone into the makeover, and
special thanks go to Mrs Johnson for her contributions and hard
work.
Support Charges
There is a weekly charge for each of our services. Currently the charge is fixed and applies to all the senior citizen properties.
Service users who do not live in council senior citizen accommodation can choose to pay for the service annually, or monthly by direct debit
Supporting People Funding
The support services we provide qualify for Supporting People funding. If a service user receives a qualifying benefit they will be able to claim supporting people subsidy to pay for the support service. The qualifying benefits include Housing Benefit, Pension Credit Guarantee Credits, and Income Support.
