Warden Services

A1 Housing Bassetlaw Ltd currently provides an alarm call and warden service to approximately 3058 people, in council owned flats and bungalows, private properties.  

 

Area Wardens.  Provide routine visits checking on the health and well being of the residents, liaising with other agencies and relatives, and regularly testing the equipment. The frequency of the visits are very flexible, and are designed to meet the changing needs of the residents.  We also respond to emergencies 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

 

Control Centre.  Provides a 24-hour service, throughout the year, taking emergency and non-emergency calls from service users; with two operators per shift duty, working a three-shift system.  Other functions carried out by the Control Centre include; out of hours emergency repair calls for A1 Housing and Notts Community Housing Association, and lone worker monitoring, for services within Bassetlaw District Council and external agencies.  

 

Community Centres. We also manageeleven centres throughout the district, usually situated near older persons flats and bungalows which are available for hire by indivivduals and groups for a wide range of activities.

 

Sheltered Housing schemes.  There are seven schemes throughout Bassetlaw, providing supported accommodation for more frail and elderly residents. Residents have the benefit of an onsite warden during the week and emergency cover at all other times.

 

 

Extra Care facilities.  We also provide successful extra care in two of the Sheltered Schemes in Worksop and Bircotes in conjunction with our partners in Social Services and care agencies.  These allow residents to remain the community when they need that extra bit of help to continue enjoying an independent life.
