Your responsibilities
- Repairing any fencing unless it borders a road, public area or footpath.
- Repairing any sheds, patios, steps, ornamental walls or other garden features.
- Replacing clothes lines and rotary driers (except in communal areas).
- Maintaining garden paths (except those giving access to front and back doors).
- Replacing keys or locks to garage doors when keys are lost.
Advice
- If a problem has been caused by vandalism or a break-in you should report the incident to the Police and get a Crime Report Number (not an Incident Number), otherwise we will charge you for the cost of the repair.
- If you, a member of your family or a visitor to your home cause damage, we expect you to get it repaired yourself.
- If your garage is separate from your home you need to explain how the operative can find it and get in. Also, do not leave anything inside that could get damaged or stolen while it is being repaired.
We need to know
- What is the problem, eg: fence loose or broken; gate sticking; path uneven; garage door damaged or jammed; key lost; roof damaged?
- If a garage door, what type is it: up-and-over, side-hung? Is the car inside?
- If a garage roof, what type is it: corrugated metal or asbestos, felt, asphalt or tiles?
- If a fence, what type is it, eg: wooden boarding, chain link, interwoven panels? How much is affected?
- If a gate or post, what type is it, eg: wooden, metal or concrete?
