Your responsibilities
- Resetting trip switches and, if necessary, turning off the mains supply.
- Replacing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes (except in communal areas).
- Replacing door bells or fitting one if one is not provided by the Council.
- Make sure your electricity supply does not get cut off because you have not paid your bill or topped up your meter.

Advice
- Do not touch bare wires and do not touch sockets or switches with wet hands. If water is leaking onto electrical fittings or a fitting is dangerous, do not use any switches connected to it and contact us immediately.
- Make sure that you know where the trip switches are located in your home and understand how to reset them. See Resetting a trip switch.
- You must not carry out any electrical work in your home without our permission. See Improvements you want to make.
- If you caused any damage or your appliance is faulty, we will charge you for calling out an operative and for the cost of any repair work carried out.
We need to know

- What type of fitting or socket is it?
- Are other buildings affected? Check with your neighbours.
