Exploring the possibilities of renewable energy is something that A1 Housing takes very seriously.
Because of this we have won a national award for our efforts to ensure that renewable energy makes a real and practical difference to people's lives.
In December 2010, we received a prestigious EDIE (Environmental Data Interactive Exchange) Award for environmental excellence to recognise our work on a number of projects across Bassetlaw.
Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pumps are a more efficient and environmentally friendly way of heating your home if you cannot have gas central heating.
We have already installed around 150 Ground Source and 60 Air Source Heat Pumps across Bassetlaw that will help to reduce tenant's fuel bills, tackle the issue of fuel poverty and improve their quality of life.
We are part of a national programme to test ground-breaking technology that reduces Carbon emissions by 80 per cent and increases energy efficiency with our retrofit housing project in Tuxford, Retford.
And we are also one of the first ALMO's in the country to trial a pioneering boiler that is 90 per cent more energy efficient and dramatically reduces Carbon emissions.
This is all part of a plan to tackle fuel poverty as well as reduce our Carbon Footprint and CO2 emissions by 20 per cent across Bassetlaw District Council's housing stock by 2020.
