A1 Housing's services are organised into three areas, these are: Technical and Housing Services, Strategy and Change and Finance Services.
The Directors and the Head of Finance report to the Managing Director who has overall responsibility for the management of A1 Housing.
Bernard Coleman
Managing Director
Bernard is a well-respected and vastly experienced housing professional who over the last 30 years has worked his way up from rent collector to managing director.
His career began with Sheffield MDC in 1980 and along the way he has held positions such as Housing Manager, Senior Housing Manager, District Estate Manager and Chief Housing Officer in organisations such as Kirklees MDC, Lincoln City Council and Mansfield District Council.
Bernard joined Bassetlaw District Council in 1996 as the Head of Housing and was responsible for the Building Repairs Service and Architects. In 2004 he was instrumental in setting up A1 Housing as its Managing Director.
He is A1 Housing's principal policy advisor, driving strategic direction and corporate management and providing support and advice to the Board and its members.
He is responsible for the following areas:

• Performance Management

Joice Rennie
Director of Strategy and Change
Joice has carved out a long and successful career in the housing sector and has held many versatile roles such as Housing Management Trainee, Positive Action Training Co-ordinator, Principal Equality Officer, Assistant Area Manager and Regeneration Manager - New Deal with Sheffield City Council.
Prior to joining A1 Housing in 2006, Joice was Regional Housing Manager for Northern Counties Housing Association.
She is responsible for the following areas:

Don Spittlehouse
Director of Technical and Housing Services and Deputy Managing Director
Don joined Bassetlaw District Council as General Manager Technical in 2003 and transferred to A1 Housing in 2004 as Director of Technical Services.
Previously, he had been a long-serving employee of Sheffield City Council where he rose to Deputy Head of Service for Mechanical and Electrical Services. This position held responsibility for the effective service repair and maintenance of some 280 schools, approximately 60,000 domestic properties and a significant number of public buildings, including libraries, museums and civic centres.
He is responsible for the following areas:
• Capital Improvements, Planned and Cyclical Works
• Responsive Repairs
• Gas Servicing
• Void Repairs
• Aids and Adaptations
• Tenancy and Estate Management
• Allocations and Lettings
• Leasehold Management
• Health and Safety
• Income Management
