Leaseholders

Leasehold ownership means that you have paid for the right to live in your flat or maisonette for a set period of time, known as the 'term' of the lease.

This period is usually 125 years and the lease of the property can be bought and sold during this time.

Bassetlaw District Council remains as the landlord and owner of the property and, as the managing agent, A1 Housing is responsible for any maintenance and repairs.

If you would like more information about your leasehold or would like to become a leaseholder, please read our Leaseholders Guide or visit the Bassetlaw District Council website.

Leaseholder Focus Group

We currently have around 150 leaseholders in Bassetlaw, all of whom have the opportunity to say how we deliver our services and how we can improve through the Leaseholders Focus Group.

The Group meets twice a year to discuss relevant leaseholder issues and it is also a chance for Leaseholders to meet officers from both Bassetlaw District Council and A1 Housing.

If you would like to be part of the Leaseholder Focus Group or would like more information, please contact our Communications Policy and Performance Officer on 01909 533 243.
