Information in Different Formats

  • We will provide information in different formats to make sure all customers can access our services quickly and easily.  This can be for customers who have reduced or no vision, or have reduced or no hearing, or where English isn't their first language. 
  • We can provide documents or information such as Rent Statements or Information leaflets in large print, Braille or audio tape.
  • We can provide a service using a minicom, signers or translators.
  • We can translate documents into languages other than english or provide interpreters.
  • We use plain language in our publications.
  • We are happy to fill in forms and read out written information - we treat those requests sensitively.

 

A1 Housing wants all our customers to be able to access our services.  We can offer our services in a number of different ways

Large Print Documents

If you wish for any of our document or information we send to you in large print please click the link below and complete the on-line form or telephone our Customer Services Department on 01909 534520.  Please note that this can take up to 5 working days for the information to be enlarged.  Click the link here to complete the on-line form.

 

 

Translated Documents into another language

When there is a need, we can arrange for our information to be translated into community language this can be a minimum of three weeks depending on the language to be translated and the length and complexity of the document.  Our most common languages are:

British Sign Language

We have members of staff at our main offices that have basic sign language skills.  For more detailed meetings or at your Tenants Conference or Consultation Events we can arrange for a British Sign Language interpreter to attend.  Unfortunately to attend a meeting, for example, with your Housing Manager we need to have between 4–6 weeks notice.

 

Audiotape

If you cannot read or see our written information we can provide the information in an audio version.  Depending on the size and complexity of the information it will take a minimum of 6 weeks to be provided

 

Braille

If you cannot read our written information we can provide the information in Braille.  Depending on the size and complexity of the information it will take a minimum of 4 weeks to be provided.  When making your request please tell us whether you need Grade 1 (in full) or Grade 2 (an overview)
